Why can't I use google docs on my new laptop?

Although I can access my documents I can't add new data or change anything, basically I can only read them. The bars on top of the documents seem to be "clouded" and none of the buttons work. I don't know what's causing it and if I use my old laptop google docs works as it should. Any ideas?|||It sounds like you're not logged in.
