I want to create a map where people can see where an item has been sent, when it has been sent, when it has arrived, etc, that is linked to a spreadsheet. Where can I start figuring out how to do this?|||If you read the google maps API you would be able create an overlay, or some such, with the data on a map of the delivery address or package whereabouts.
You would also need to be able to use the tracking API ( if there is one ) of the package handling company.

This is going to take a LOT of reading up to do, make sure you are not duplicating existing work done.
