I learned that it's not safe to store private files in google docs. What's a good website I can store files?

I still prefer to upload my files online just in case my laptop shuts down, but I'm looking for a reliable storage site with absolute privacy.|||The issue with security and privacy isn't with Google Docs- it's having the files online in the first place. Having your files ANYWHERE makes them partially susceptible to being compromised- by the company employees, hackers, 3rd party vendors, etc.

An "online storage site with absolute privacy" doesn't exist. For that matter, neither does an offline version. But if you're looking for something reasonable (both in terms of privacy and cost) Google Docs is a good way to go. Keep in mind the only two "mainstream" ways to get in is through your password and by 'forging' your password through personal questions. To prevent the first, pick a passphrase with more than 15 characters and include numbers. To keep your password from being reset from the "personal reset questions" that you put in your application, make sure the questions can't be found on the internet. You'd be surprised how often a person's DoB, place of birth, and other personal facts are on social networking sites like Facebook. Double check to make sure all these are indeed personal, and you have yourself a reasonably safe storage site for online files.

Good luck!|||buy an external hard drive if you care about privacy|||ive heard mozy is good, but it costs money.

That said, nothing online is 100% private. If you put it up there, it may show up somewhere sometime, I'm afraid. You can encrypt or password-protect documents, that would add a layer of security.|||flashdrive! trust me, it"s worth the effort.
