What are the pros and cons of the new Google Docs?

Google Docs, from what I understand is an online word processor, spreadsheet, and data base manager. It is my hope that someday Yahoo will be able to expand on this project. In looking forward to the day when documents can be shared on line without worrying about what version/software each computer has, what are the pros and cons right now of Google Docs? How does this new program compare to MS Office or the new and free Open Office?

Here is the link to more information about the new service:

Requirements are currently the following:

1.) A Google Account

2.) Internet Access

Jeff|||Well some of the cons are...

1) limited feature set compared to MS word/excel

2) You have to be connected to the net to use them

3) They require you to relearn some of the basic features and where functions are located (relearning takes time and money for companies)

Some of the pros is that...

1) Quick access to your documents anywhere in the world

2) Usually a bit easier to use once you learn where everything is

3) Has a few more "collaborative" features such as file sharing, simultaneously working on the same files and doesn't need to be installed on your computer to use them.

I don't think Yahoo is going to be able to expand on Google's projects like this since they are often far behind in the market for such technology. But who knows in the future.

I hope this is what you were looking for.
